Disclaimer

Effective date: 4 May 2026

This page sets out the important limitations and disclaimers that apply to your use of Notice Mitra. Please read it carefully — together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, it forms part of the agreement between you and Priya Agarwal (sole proprietor, operating as Notice Mitra).

1. We are a technology platform, not a CA firm

Notice Mitra is a technology platform that helps users organise, understand and respond to income tax notices. The platform itself is not a firm of Chartered Accountants and does not, on its own, render professional services. Professional review of replies on the CA-Vetted plan is provided by independent practising Chartered Accountants empanelled with the platform.

2. AI-generated outputs are not professional advice

Information made available on this website, including notice summaries, risk indicators, documents checklists and AI-generated draft replies, is generated using artificial intelligence and is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, tax, accounting or other professional advice on the facts of your specific case. AI drafts are not reviewed by a Chartered Accountant unless you opt for the CA-Vetted plan, and they should not be filed with the income tax authorities without independent professional review.

3. CA-Vetted reviews

On the CA-Vetted plan, the review and sign-off is provided by an independent practising Chartered Accountant empanelled with the platform. The empanelled CA acts in their individual professional capacity and is bound by the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and the Code of Ethics issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The platform is not a party to the professional relationship between you and the empanelled CA.

4. ICAI compliance

This website is intended to provide information about the platform and is not, and should not be construed as, an advertisement, solicitation, invitation or inducement of any sort by any Chartered Accountant or firm of Chartered Accountants. Any reference to "vetted by a CA" describes the service offered through the platform and is not intended to solicit professional engagements directly.

5. Final responsibility rests with the taxpayer

The final reply prepared on the platform is filed and signed by you, the taxpayer, on the income tax e-filing portal. Final responsibility for filing the reply, for the truth and accuracy of the information stated in it, and for compliance with the Income Tax Act, 1961 / 2025 and rules and circulars made thereunder, rests entirely with you.

6. No guarantee of outcome

While we strive for accuracy and quality, no representation or warranty — express or implied — is made that any reply prepared on the platform will be accepted by the income tax authorities, that any specific demand or addition will be reduced or set aside, or that any specific refund or order will be issued. Each notice and assessment proceeding turns on its own facts and the discretion of the Assessing Officer or appellate authority.

7. Scope of coverage

The platform supports notices issued under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Income Tax Act, 2025 by the Indian Income Tax Department. Notices, demands or proceedings under other laws (including GST, customs, Benami, FEMA, state tax laws, or notices from authorities outside India) are outside the current scope of the platform. We may decline to take up matters that are outside scope; the Refund Policy will apply in such cases.

8. Self-Serve free draft cap

The Self-Serve plan is limited to up to 3 free AI drafts per registered account. Once this limit is reached, you must move to the CA-Vetted plan to obtain further analyses or replies.

9. Third-party content and links

Where the platform links to third-party websites, official notifications, court orders, ITAT decisions, CBDT circulars or similar content, those links are provided for convenience and reference only. We do not endorse and are not responsible for third-party content, and the availability of such content on third- party servers is outside our control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Priya Agarwal (sole proprietor, operating as Notice Mitra) nor her empanelled CAs or service providers shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising out of or connected with your use of the platform. The aggregate liability of Priya Agarwal (sole proprietor, operating as Notice Mitra) is limited as set out in the Terms of Use.

11. Updates

We may update this Disclaimer from time to time. The "effective date" at the top of this page reflects the latest update.
