Why Notice Mitra
Every year, the Income Tax Department issues lakhs of notices to Indian taxpayers — most of them routine intimations under Section 143(1), some asking for clarifications under Section 142(1), and a few demanding scrutiny under Section 143(2), reassessment under Section 148, or penalty under Section 270A or the Section 271 series. For a salaried professional or a small business owner, the moment that PDF arrives in the inbox is genuinely stressful. The language is dense. The deadlines are short.
Notice Mitra is a technology platform that helps with three specific things: (a) reading the notice in plain English and flagging the risk level, (b) listing the documents you will need to assemble a proper reply, and (c) preparing a draft reply you can either use as-is on the Self-Serve plan or have reviewed by an independent practising Chartered Accountant on the CA-Vetted plan.
On the CA-Vetted plan, the assigned Chartered Accountant reviews and signs off your reply in their individual capacity — usually within 48 working hours, subject to case complexity. The fee is fixed and quoted to you before any payment is taken.
Notice Mitra does not replace the role of a Chartered Accountant. It exists to make it easier for taxpayers to connect with one when an income tax notice arrives.
Notice Mitra is currently operated as a sole proprietorship by Priya Agarwal (ICAI Membership No. 457330), based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Incorporation as a private limited company is in progress.
